Two US men-of-war to visit Russian Pacific Fleet's base

Two US men-of-war - the guided-missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville and the dock landing ship USS Fort McHenry - are expected in a base of the Russian Pacific Fleet on July 3rd-5th. This information was disclosed on Thursday by the Fleet's press service.

The Russian side will be represented by the guided-missile cruiser Varyag and big anti-submarine ship Admiral Vinogradov. An official Russian delegation will be headed by Deputy Commander of the Pacific Fleet Vice-Admiral Alexander Konev.

The agenda of the visit includes meetings with Yuri Kopylov, the head of the Vladivostok administration, and Alexander Konev, a Deputy Commander of the Russian Pacific Fleet.

American sailors will lay wreaths to the Eternal Fire at the Combat Glory of the Pacific Fleet memorial and have a number of excursions around the city. In addition, Russian and American sailors will hold several friendly basketball and volleyball competitions.

The USS Fort McHenry will play host to children from one of Vladivostok's orphanages.
