Flood in Tajikistan claims four lives

Four people have died in Tajikistan in a flood caused by torrential rains. The operational headquarters of the Republic's Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the tragedy occurred on June 16 in the Revad kishlak situated 160 km from the capital city. Two women and two children were washed away by a mountain mud torrent when they moved on a path along the Zarafshan river.

The headquarters reported that yesterday's strong rains that fell on Dushanbe destroyed more than 20 dwelling houses, filling the basements of many administrative buildings with mud. A special commission of the Emergencies Ministry of the republic is specifying the size of the damage done by the natural calamity.
