Moscow's mayor Yury Luzhkov has met president of the Italian province of Lazio Francesco Storaci. They discussed issues connected with the 5th international investment forum "Moscow-Invest-2002" due in Milan in October. Many Russian and Italian businessmen are expected to take part in the event. In 2001 a similar forum was successfully held in Berlin.
Luzhkov expressed his hope that the Italian forum would see "not less interest in cooperation with Moscow." He spoke for developing cooperation in food, chemical and pharmacology industries, as well as in IT and telecommunications. Investment cooperation is also expected to develop through fulfilling such projects as building multifunctional complexes on the territory of "Moscow City", and a high-class hotel in Nikitsky boulevard, as well as completing the hotel and business centre "Novinsky boulevard".
Stressing that Lazio is a large cultural, historical and tourist centre, Luzhkov suggested continuing cooperation between the Italian province and Moscow in culture, art and tourism.
Luzhkov also asked Storaci to support Moscow as a candidate for holding the international exhibition "Expo-2010" in the Italian political circles.
