12th conference on aerospace biology and medicine to be held in Moscow June 10-14

The results of the four-year work of the Russian specialists in aerospace biology and medicine will be discussed at the 12th conference of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN) to be held in Moscow from June 10-14.

As director of the State Scientific Centre of Russia - the Institute of Medico-Biological Problems of RAN - Academician Anatoly Grigoryev told RIA Novosti, the conference will become the largest scientific forum in the field of medico-biological sciences on space. Taking part in it will be more than 900 specialists who will submit 350 scientific reports. Their list includes reports on the problems of selection of flyers and spacemen, the training of crews, psychophysiology and security of professional activity of crews, and the questions of post-flight rehabilitation of spacemen.

The scientists will also discuss ways to use the advances of aerospace medicine in industry and health services, the promising directions of research on the International Space Station, and flights of specialised biological satellites of the Earth within the preparation of a manned flight to Mars.
