Ukrainian Defence Minister: country's way to enter NATO will be long and complicated

Ukrainian Defence Minister Vladimir Shkidchenko thinks that the fulfilment of the plans, concerning the Ukrainian entrance into the NATO, will be a "long and complicated" process. This opinion was disclosed by the Minister at the press-conference after the session of the joint NATO-Ukraine commission at a level of Defence Ministers.

As Shkidchenko puts it, it was important that the Ukrainian initiative was understood and supported by the NATO. Ukraine looks forward to expanding its participating role in the processes, organised by the North Atlantic Council, the Ukrainian Minister said.

In the course of the same press-conference NATO Secretary General George Robertson noted, that the Ukrainian desire to closely integrate with the North Atlantic structures received a wide support of the NATO.
