Igor Ivanov, the Foreign Minister of Russia, will attend a meeting of ministers of foreign affairs to take place in Whistler, Canada, on June 12 and 13. According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Russia, the ministers will discuss a vast spectre of issues pertaining to the preparations for the meeting of the heads-of-state of the 'Eight' in Cananaskis.
The meeting will mostly concentrate on struggle against international terrorism. In this connection, the ministers will discuss international security and strategic stability, including control over armaments, disarmament, and the use of weapons of mass destruction and hazardous materials and technologies in fighting terror. Also expected is an exchange of opinions concerning regional crises in Afghanistan, Middle East, India-Pakistan, etc.
