Russian Security Council Secretary and Polish Ambassador meet in the Kremlin

At their meeting in the Kremlin on Thursday, Russian Security Council Secretary Vladimir Rushailo and Polish Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Stefan Meller paid special attention to bilateral cooperation. As RIA Novosti was informed in the press service of the Russian Security Service, the sides stated that during the past year the Russian-Polish relations, especially in the political sphere, have become more substantive.

Vladimir Rushailo and Stefan Meller touched upon the problems of cooperation concerning the Kaliningrad region (Russian enclave in the Baltic area which borders on Poland). This theme has become constant of late in the Russian-Polish dialogue. They underscored the mutual interest of their countries in the development of interregional contacts with the Kaliningrad region after the entry of the Republic of Poland into the European Union.

They also discussed urgent problems of the fight against international terrorism and its criminal manifestations. Rushailo and Meller expressed a unanimous point of view that any anti-terrorist actions should be taken on the basis of the strict observance of the international law.
