Foreign ministers of Russia and North Korea to sign plan of exchanges in Moscow

In the course of a visit by Korean Foreign Minister Paek Nam-sun to Moscow, the foreign ministries of Russia and North Korea are supposed to sign a plan of exchanges for the coming two years, official spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Yakovenko told RIA Novosti. The coming visit by the Korean foreign minister to Russia, Yakovenko said, is being made in return to a visit by Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov to Pyongyang in February 2000. Last time the Korean Foreign Minister visited Moscow in 1998. Yakovenko stressed that the coming visit "will be a continuation of a series of active bilateral summit meetings and contacts over the past time which testify to a new stage of relations with this major neighbour of Russia, the stage of friendly good-neighbourly relations and constructive partnership."
