Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov expects Uzbekistan to take an active part in drafting documents for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit. Commenting on the Uzbek delegation's absence from the meeting between Shanghai Cooperation Organisation defence ministers, Ivanov said that on Tuesday evening Uzbek Defence Minister Kadir Gulyamov called him and warned that he could not arrive in Moscow for some objective reasons. Sergei Ivanov expressed hope that the Uzbek side would take an active part in preparations of documents for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit to be held in St. Petersburg in early June.
