Broadcast in Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Slovakian, Romanian, Bulgarian and Croatian languages is seized for "Liberty" radio.
Some Central and Eastern Europe countries will not be able to receive “Radio Liberty” in the coming year. This radio station will seize transmitting its programs in seven languages of those countries, obeying the White House administrations’ official order. The languages are Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Slovakian, Romanian, Bulgarian and Croatian.
Accordingly, more than 100 employees are to be fired in Prague, Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Bratislava, Bucharest, Sofia and Zagreb.
In February in his budget proposal to Congress, George W. Bush advised to stop broadcasting this radio to the countries ready to become part of NATO or the EU. Also, “Liberty/Free Europe” is now working more and more in Eurasia and South East Asia, wishing to “focus at those difficult regions completely”.
