German Interior Minister for setting up a permanent conference of the Interior Ministers of the Baltic Sea states

German Interior Minister Schily Otto has proposed to set up a permanent conference of the Interior Ministers of the Baltic Sea States. He put forward this initiative at the conference of the Interior Ministers of 11 Baltic States and the EU that ended on Tuesday in the German town of Lubeck. The conference summed up the work carried out by the Special Group of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) on the fight against organized crime. The German Minister said that he would put forward his proposal at the summit of the heads of government of the CBSS member-countries that is to be held in St. Petersburg on June 10th and to be chaired by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov.
