EURASEC appoints Summit, May 13

The Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community, or EURASEC, will have its nearest session in Moscow, May 13, at the level of heads of state, report Kremlin PR. Dominating the agenda will be member countries' closer teamwork for a reliable customs union and an united economic environment, with the greatest stress on coordinated work for unified customs tariffs and to promote EURASEC countries joining the World Trade Organisation. The summiteers will debate, and are expected to adopt an Interparliamentary Assembly statute, and regulations for countries joining the Community or aspiring for an observation status. Discussions will include the fundamentals of EURASEC countries' frontier policies, budgetary and other financial issues, and legal and organisational matters. The EURASEC presently comprises Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
