International terrorism and other manifestations of militant extremism create a grave danger to the world community nowadays. In particular, this danger manifests itself now in the Central-Asian region. Secretary of the Russian Security Council Vladimir Rushailo stated this on Wednesday before his flight to Yerevan. According to Rushailo, the situation on the Tajik-Afghan border causes grave concern. It is necessary that the sides concerned boost practical work on forming regional security systems and control bodies, first of all in the Central-Asian region. He noted that this must become a major element of the general system of collective security in the context of military-political integration within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty (CST). It is not a mere chance that this question will be prominent on the agenda of Thursday's sitting of the Committee of the Security Councils' Secretaries representing the Collective Security Treaty's member-states, Rushailo emphasized. Debating the problems of ensuring regional and universal security at the forthcoming meeting is a new stage of the preparation for the summit meeting of the states - parties to the CST slated to be held in the Armenian capital at the end of May, said the secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. Vladimir Rushailo will participate in the regular meeting of the Committee of Security Councils' Secretaries - parties to the CST which will take place in the capital of Armenia on April 26-27.
