Rapid Deployment Units Of Kyrgyzstan And Kazakhstan To Be Stationed In Bishkek

Rapid deployment units of the armies of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, which are formed on the base of the Collective Security Treaty, will be stationed in Bishkek, according to the joint declaration by Erlan Idrisov and Muratbek Imanaliyev, the foreign ministers of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, respectively, during the official visit of the latter to Kazakhstan. In addition, head of Kazakhstan's foreign ministry said that, with a view to counteracting terrorism and extremism, a branch of the CIS Antiterrorist Center would also be based in Bishkek. The capital of Kyrgyzstan will also house the office of the "Shanghai Group of Five". Erlan Idrisov told the journalists that the two republics are joining forces in consolidating stability within their countries and counteracting threats from outside, which emerged during the latest years.
