America not to participate in international conference "Space Free of Arms"

The United States is not going to take part in international conference "Space Free of Arms: Scene of Peaceful Cooperation in the 21st Century", which will open in Moscow Wednesday, said a Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman. The USA claims the event is part of Russia's campaign aimed at discrediting the American National Missile Defense (NMD), even though the main topic of the Conference is expected to be space security, which is, apparently, against the interests of the American side. Participants to the conference will come from 100 countries, 97 of which have already confirmed the intention to participate. To address the conference are representatives of the United Nations, World Meteorological Organization, World Health Organization, and a number of non-governmental organizations.
