Vladimir Putin: "Russia considers Germany to be a reliable partner"

Russia is not satisfied with investment cooperation with Germany and believes that it can be upgraded. President Vladimir Putin of Russia made such a statement on Tuesday at the joint press conference with FRG Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder upon the completion of the Russian-German talks in St. Petersburg. At the same time, the president stressed that the improvement of investment climate depends on Russia to a greater extent. Vladimir Putin deems it necessary to develop cooperation between the two countries in the spheres of high-technologies, finance and personnel training and "to intensify energy dialogue." The president also said that Moscow believes that the Russian-German cooperation will be conducive to expansion of Russia-EU cooperation. "Russia considers Germany to be a reliable partner which it prepared to work with in a strategic perspective," Vladimir Putin stated.
