Mozambique: Cholera - 7 March, 2002

A cholera epidemic in Mozambique has caused 281 deaths since it began last August.

281 of the 22, 774 infected with cholera have died. The outbreak is mainly in the north of the country, in the province of Nampula, where 750 people per day are pouring into health centres, according to Health Ministry spokesperson, Jose Chivale.
