Russian President's Spouse Visits Ancient Chinese City Of Suzhoy

On Sunday, the Russian president's spouse, Lyudmila Putin, visited Suzhoy, an ancient city in China. The city history dates back to 2,500 years. This is one of the cities where silk manufacturing started. The Russian first lady visited the Scientific and Research Institute of Embroidery, which both preserves ancient traditions and develops new techniques. Mrs. Putin was shown techniques of embroidery on silk. She visited production facilities and the museum, where she looked at the exhibits of craftsmen of Suzhoy. The art of embroidery on silk is about 2,000 years old. During this time, craftsmen of Suzhoy have gained fame not only in China, but all over the world. Fine filigree and high quality of thread characterize their silk products.
