Macedonia To Purchase Yugoslav Armaments

The Macedonian and Yugoslav Defence Ministers have achieved a principled agreement on the delivery of Yugoslav weapons and military hardware to the Macedonian Armed Forces. Reports from Skopje read that Macedonia is interested in purchasing missile systems, weapons and equipment for special anti-terrorist units, and training aircraft. The details of the agreement will be discussed by bilateral expert teams, who will work out relevant documents and payment schemes by the end of the year. The deliveries will be effected to pay for that part of the Yugoslav property, which will pass to Macedonia after the former Yugoslav republics have signed the final treaty on allotting the property and funds of the former federation. Reportedly, the sides have considerably progressed in solving this issue of late.
