The Office Of The International Migration Organisation In Mazar-i-sharif Has Been Plundered

Against the background of the battles between the Taliban troops and the units of the Northern Alliance at the approaches to the northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif, the office of the International Migration Organisation (IMO) has been plundered. As the RIA Novosti correspondent reports, this information has come from the IMO representatives. According to them, on Monday unidentified marauders captured the mission's property, stole two cars and beat two Afghan guards and took their money. Representative of the UN coordinator for rendering humanitarian aid to Afghanistan Stephanie Bunker said that two days ago an attempt was made to capture the building of the Islamic Organisation for Aid to Afghanistan in Kandahar. The information coming from Kandahar says that groups of Arab militants have again appeared in the residential districts of Kandahar. They seize the flats deserted by local inhabitants, cars and some offices of charitable organisations. The situation in the city is very tense, say witnesses.
