In 2001 Russian Frontier-guards Confiscated At The Tajik-Afghan Border More Than Five Tons Of Drugs

This year, the Russian frontier-guards confiscated at the Tajik-Afghan border more than five tons of drugs, including over 2,200 kilogrammes of heroin. RIA Novosti was told about it in the press service of the Russian frontier-guards in Tajikistan. In the course of the search actions on Monday the Russian frontier-guards at the Khorog section of the border confiscated another consignment of drugs -- more than two kilogrammes of heroin. In view of the military actions in Afghanistan, the Panj, Moscow, Kalai-Khum and Khorog frontier detachments have been placed on enhanced alert, reported the press service of the Russian frontier-guards.
