Russian Vice-Premier Negotiating In India

Fighting terrorism "is not fast, this is a difficult and long process," stated on Monday Russian Vice-Premier Ilya Klebanov after negotiations with Indian National Security Advisor Brajesh Mishra. At the same time, Klebanov did not rule out that the civilized world would not limit its anti-terrorist operation to Afghanistan. He said that Russia joined the international anti-terrorist coalition established after the terrorist acts in the United States on September 11. At the same time, the Vice-premier stressed that it was not participating in the military action. But Russia is cooperating "in other aspects of the aforementioned operation including the humanitarian one." "In this connection, we maintain close contacts with India," he said. On his behalf, Brajesh Mishra said that in the course of the conversation with Klebanov, the sides touched on the issues of military-technical cooperation between Russia and India, as well as on the ones concerning the interaction in the nuclear and space exploration spheres.
