Russian-Chinese Trade Increases By Third

Over the first nine months of 2001, Russian-Chinese trade increased 31.5 percent from the same period last year to reach $7.59 billion, according to China's Customs Department. Russian exports to China grew 35.6 percent over the same period, reaching $5.81 billion, while imports from China increased 19.8 percent and exceeded $1.7 billion. According to Russian experts, in 2001, Russian-Chinese trade will exceed last year's record high of $8,003 million.
