Russian Border Guard Died In Clash With Armed Drug Couriers On Tajik-Afghan Border

Russian border guard Dmitry Rodionov, 26, was killed in a clash with armed drug couriers on the Afghan-Tajik border, the press service at the Russian Frontier Service in Tajikistan reported on Friday. At 1:45 a. m., local time, on a border sector guarded by the Panj border unit, the Russian border guards located six armed drug couriers crossing the river. During the arrest, the couriers opened fire at the Russian soldiers. In the course of the shooting, one courier was killed, the rest were eliminated during the retreat.
