Russian Security Council Secretary: Situation On Tajik-Afghan Border Under Control

The situation on the Tajik-Afghan border is under control, Russian Security Council Secretary Vladimir Rushailo said in Dushanbe on Tuesday. He told the press that the commanders of Russian troops and borderguards reported no concentration of the Taliban along the border with Tajikistan. "That's why there is no real danger," the Russian Security Council Secretary said. On Tuesday Rushailo met Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov to discuss the two countries' relations with other states of the CIS. The meeting was attended by representatives of practically all CIS countries. The meeting focused on the developments in the Central Asian region regarding the US strike at Afghanistan and issues of military-technical cooperation, humanitarian aid provision and economic relations on the whole. The participants laid a particular stress on cooperation with countries party to the Collective Security Treaty.
