Kirghizia Takes Extra Security Measures After Usa Launches Anti-terrorism Operation In Afghanistan

The Kirghiz Defence Ministry "is taking extra security measures" after the USA and their allies started the counter-terrorism campaign in Afghanistan, the Kirghiz Defence Ministry press service reported on Monday. In particular, subdivisions of Kirghizia's Southern group of forces deployed on the Kirghiz-Tajik border have been put on red alert. The Kirghiz Defence Ministry is holding consultations with the military departments of the states party to the CIS Collective Security Treaty, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and Central Asian countries.
