Russia's FSB Inquires Austria About Alexander Tikhonov's Whereabouts

Russia's Federal Security Service, or FSB, has reached Austrian law enforcement agencies inquiring about the whereabouts of Olympic champion Alexander Tikhonov who is charged with masterminding the assassination attempt on Aman Tuleyev, governor of the Kemerovo region, Western Siberia, which was thwarted in 2000. Tikhonov left Russia about two months ago. His lawyers forwarded a letter to the FSB Novosibirsk department, which is working on the assassination case, notifying that their client has left for Austria for a course of in-patient treatment.
