President Of Ukraine Rules Out Possibility Of His Country's Participation In Military Operations In Afghanistan

Under no circumstances will Ukraine take part in military operations in Afghanistan, said Leonid Kuchma, President of Ukraine, to pressmen on Monday. Leonid Kuchma said that "after the military operation launched in Afghanistan by the US-led counter-terrorism coalition the world has completely changed." This, however, does not mean that the anti-terror struggle does not concern the Ukraine, he added. President Kuchma noted that there are manifestations of terrorism in the Ukraine, too -- for example, the laundering of money used by the terrorists. Leonid Kuchma also ruled out that Ukraine would in future resume its arms deliveries to Uzbekistan. Earlier, the Ukraine took the decision to offer its air space for the transit of American military transport planes at the request of the USA.
