World Bank To Render Consultation Services To Russia

This year and in subsequent years, the World Bank will render some consultation services to Russia in the economic and financial spheres. As World Bank experts told RIA Novosti, work on macroeconomic monitoring and preparation of analytical material on the development of Russian agriculture have already been started this financial year. Assessments of the national system of financial accounting and reporting are planned to be made in the 2002 financial year. Active consultations with the Russian government will be carried out on all of these issues. At present, the World Bank is drafting analytical material and reviews on issues related to budget management, as well as a review on "Power Engineering and the Environment". Apart from this, the World Bank is preparing analytical material related to Russia's forthcoming entry into the World Trade Organization.
