Russia, Iran To Sign Agreements On Military Cooperation

The Russian Rosoboronexport association and a relevant Iranian organization are likely to sign several agreements in the military sphere in the near future, Rajab Safarov, the head of the coordination Center of Russo-Iranian programs, was quoted as saying on Thursday. In his words, contracts on purchasing of the Eskander-class tactical missiles and the Yakhont counter-ship missiles are currently in their final stage. "This has been confirmed by official representatives of the Rosoboronexport company and the relevant Iranian organization," he said. Signing of such contracts, Safarov added, will enhance Iranian positions in the region.
