Russia And Iran Come Out Against Double Standards To Terrorism

Following negotiations between the Russian and Iranian defence ministries on Tuesday, it was announced that both countries were against double standards in relation to terrorism. The Iranian Defence and Armed Logistics Minister, Vice-Admiral Ali Shamkhani stressed that "we hope that the international community will give a new, more correct appraisal of what terrorism means." He said that when Russia suffered from terrorist strikes, some countries supported them. When answering a question about Teheran's position in relation to US plans to bomb bases in Afghanistan, Ali Shamkhani said that the roots of terrorism should be exposed and destroyed without harming innocent people. He added that if the decision to launch strikes were approved by the UN, then Iran would support it.
