GDP Growth Reported In CIS In 2001

The GDP grew by 6% on average in the CIS countries in the first 8 months of 2001 (the figure for the corresponding period of 2000 is 8%), the Statistics Committee of the CIS reported. The industrial output rose by 8% in the CIS on average in January-August 2001 compared to January-August 2000 (the corresponding figure for 2000 is 10%), and investments in the fixed capital increased by 10% (16%). The industrial production index in the CIS on average was 105.4% in August compared to July (the corresponding figure for August 2000 was 103. 8%).
