President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent a message of greeting to the participants in the 4th meeting of the Russian-Chinese committee of friendship, peace and development which opened in Moscow. The text of this message was read out by Vice-Premier of the government of Russia Ilya Klebanov. The message says, in particular, that the Treaty of Goodneighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation between Russia and the PRC, signed last July, laid a firm foundation of Russian-Chinese relations. The message notes that assistance to a direct dialogue of the citizens of the two countries, to contacts of government organisations, and to cooperation of the business circles is the public's task on implementing this treaty.
