Russia Aid To Afghanistan Coordinated With Un

Russian Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu will meet Oshima Kenzo, UN Deputy Secretary General for Humanitarian Matters October, 29. He is now inspecting the situation in Central Asia. Among primary subjects of the meeting will be humanitarian crisis which occurred following US retaliation in Afghanistan and coordination between Russian and UN aid activity. Russia has already deposited about 200 tons of supplies, costing 21,585 million rubles, including 75.5 tons of food. Within a few days more than 70 carriages of goods will be sent from the towns of Novokuznetsk and Noginsk and from Omsk, Kursk and Leningrad regions to Tajikistan. The goods are mostly large tents, portable power plants, stoves, medicines and KamAZ trucks.
