President Of Venezuela: OPEC Non-member Countries Help To Save Crude Oil Prices

The oil-producing countries, which are not members of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), intend to help save the crude oil prices which fell to a two-years' record low, believes President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. According to a RIA Novosti correspondent, the statement of Mr. Chavez, who had returned to Caracas after his 3-week tour of Europe, Asia, North America and Africa, was transmitted via the channels of OPEC Secretariat General in Vienna. According to Hugo Chavez, the countries - major oil producers - are, first of all, Russia, Mexico and Canada, which "share the OPEC strategy spearheaded at stabilisation of the world commodity markets." Mr. Chavez noted that "the struggle against low prices of 'black gold' on world exchanges will be a success, when OPEC member-countries and states - non-members of the world oil cartel - act in tandem and freeze or cut their oil export volumes."
