Moscow Grateful To Un For Humanitarian Assistance To North Caucasus

Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov has expressed gratitude to the United Nations for "considerable humanitarian assistance" to Russia's North Caucasus. The minister said this at a Moscow meeting with UN Under-Secretary General Kenzo Oshima on Monday. The Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction that Mr. Oshima managed to visit Moscow in spite of the complicated situation in view of the events in Afghanistan". The Afghan developments were prominent on the meeting's agenda.
