Abdul Haq Becomes Victim Of Pakistani Secret Service Taliban Intrigue

Afghan sources have confirmed that the distinguished Afghan opposition field Commander Abdul Haq became a victim of collusion between the Pakistan military intelligence and the Taliban. The UAE newspaper "Al Khalidj" has published allegations from Mustafa Itimadi, a Northern Alliance leader, that the ISI informed the Taliban of Abdul Haq's movements. Abdul Haq's detachment was ambushed and the Taliban executed the Pushtuni general by hanging. "Al Khalidj" stated that many members of the ISI are pro Taliban and are secretly continuing to support the Kabul regime. The newspaper also believes that the ISI are passing intelligence about the opposition onto the Taliban which, in many respects, explains the lack of success at the front by Northern Alliance forces.
