Israeli Army Units Enter Arab Village On West Bank Of The Jordan

On Wednesday morning Israeli army units supported by tanks entered the Arab village of Arabe to the west of Jenin, a Palestinian town on the West Bank of the Jordan river. A RIA Novosti correspondent reports that the village is situated in the A zone which, in line with the Norwegian treaties, is under full control of the Palestinian National Authority. Israelis claim the operation is aimed at arresting some commanders of radical Islamic organisations, firstly the Islamic Jihad, involved in terrorist activities. Fierce shooting fights are now taking place in the village. According to recent reports, a few Palestinians have been wounded.
