Russia's Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov will pay a brief one-day routine visit to Washington on October 31, US ambassador to Russia Alexander Vershbow said Tuesday. According to him, agreement on a visit by the Russian diplomatic supremo to the US was reached during Ivanov's telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Colin Powell, which took place several days ago. The key event of the visit will no doubt be talks between Ivanov and Powell. Besides, the ambassador did not rule out that Ivanov may also have a meeting in the White House.
