Russia's Parliament: Georgia Developments Testify To Executive Power Inaptitude

Recent developments in Georgia are an indication of A progressing paralyse of power there, believe Russian MPs. "If the president cannot keep his lawenforcement ministries' actions under control, his inability to cope with terrorists in the territory of Georgia becomes obvious," Vladislav Reznik, deputy chief of the pro-governmental faction Unity, told RIA Novosti. He views the government-resignation decision of Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze as aimed at "retaining power". The Georgian developments confirm that "it is too early" to withdraw Russian peace-keepers from Abkhazia, believes the Russian parliamentarian.
