Russian-Norwegian Fishing Commission Gathers For A Session

A regular session of the Russian-Norwegian fishing commission has opened in St. Petersburg Monday. As the information and analytical centre of the State Fishery Committee reported, participants in the meeting would discuss issues of setting generally accepted level of catch and distribution of quarters for fishing cod, herring, black halibut and other types of fish products in the vicinity of Spitsbergen in 2002. Besides, the sides will discuss memorandum on cooperation in exerting control over catching and the procedure for opening and closing catching regions. The session will complete November 11.
