Russian President And Indian Premier Decide To Hold Regular Summits

The Russian president and the Indian prime minister have decided to hold regular summits. Atal Bihari Vajpayee invited Vladimir Putin to visit India, and the Russian president accepted the invitation. The timing for the visit will be defined later, through diplomatic channels. The negotiations resulted in the Memorandum of the Russian Ministry of Atomic Energy and Indian Nuclear Energy Commission on implementation of the Kudankulam atomic power station project and the Memorandum of intentions between the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry and the Indian Science and Technology Ministry. Putin and Vajpayee signed a joint declaration on international terrorism and a Russian-Indian statement on strategic issues.
