Nigerian lady to be stoned to death
A Nigerian lady is about to be punished for having sexual relations out of wedlock by being stoned to death.
An appeal has been launched in Rome by the Santo Egidio lay community to petition President Olegesun Obasanjo of Nigeria to waive the sentence. A Moslem tribunal sentenced her to death by stoning for committing adultery but the Santo Egidio community claim that 33-year-old Safiya Tungar-Tudu was pregnant through having sexual relations before she married.
