NATO Council Session Includes Uzbekistan For The First Time

On Tuesday the NATO Council for the first time held its session in Brussels in "the 19 plus 1" format with the participation of Uzbekistan. On Wednesday evening a spokesman for the apparatus of the North Atlantic Alliance announced this at a briefing. According to him, the session was attended by the Foreign, Defence and Foreign Trade Ministers of Uzbekistan. However, the NATO spokesman did not dwell on the details of the session, saying only that NATO highly praised the position of Uzbekistan on the anti-terrorist operation in Afghanistan. He said that the Alliance's consultations with Uzbekistan would be continued.
