Georgia Loses Unesco Voting Rights

Official spokesman for the Georgian Foreign Ministry Kakha Sikharulidze announced on Friday that Georgia had lost its voting rights in UNESCO after failing to re-pay its membership debts. According to him, the debt has been accumulating since 1992 and currently amounts to some $40,000. However, the spokesman said that the problem would soon be resolved and Georgia's voting rights restored.
