US Ambassador To Moscow Says Common Approach To The ABM System Has Not Been Achieved At The Russian-US Summit

US ambassador to Moscow Alexander Vershbow has admitted that a common approach to the ABM system has not been achieved at the Russian-US summit. He pointed out at a Moscow press conference on Monday that at their meeting Vladimir Putin and George Bush had specified the sides' positions. According to the ambassador, the US position is that a limited defence system should be created for the struggle against the threats coming from the rogue countries. At the same time Vershbow believes that the presidents have managed to coordinate separate agreements on which the sides' positions coincide and to go over to the new level of relations between the two countries.
