CIS Council Of Heads Of State To Gather In Moscow November 30

A session of the CIS Council of Heads of State to be held in Moscow on November 30 will be devoted to the tenth anniversary of the Commonwealth. The presidents will exchange opinions on the analytical report On the Results of the CIS Activities Over the 10 Years and its Long-Term Tasks. A RIA Novosti correspondent learnt about this Monday at the Moscow office of the CIS executive committee. At the session, one of the priority issues will be organisation of joint anti-terrorist operations in CIS territory. The presidents will also analyse the implementation of the procedures within each state with a view to putting into effect interstate treaties and agreements within the CIS. Besides, the CIS leaders will consider the draft convention of the standards of democratic elections, electoral rights and freedoms of the CIS citizens. Plans also call for discussing the date and venue for the next CIS summit and for looking into the results of the CIS observers' activities during the presidential elections in Belarus. The meeting of the CIS Heads of State will come after the session of the Councils of Prime Ministers and Foreign Ministers due on November 29.
