Spanish Newspaper Reports Its Correspondent Missing In Afghanistan

The Spanish periodical El Mundo reported Monday its war correspondent Julio Fuentez missing in Afghanistan. He is believed to have disappeared in Jalalabad's environs after a convoy of cars carrying western reporters from Kabul ran into a Taliban ambush. Among others travelling in the convoy were correspondents with Italy's Correra de la Serra, Spanish channel TV3 channel, Reuters and other media outlets. TV3 correspondents survived and contacted their editor's office saying they are alive but know nothing about their colleagues. The missing El Mundo correspondent had visited nearly all the hot spots on the planet in recent years. In the 1990-s he was working in Moscow.
