Russian, Tajik Presidents Exchange Opinions On Prospects Of Afghan Settlement

Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President Emomali Rakhmonov of Tajikistan Wednesday. The Russian president's press service informed RIA Novosti that in the course of their talk the heads of state exchanged opinions on the situation in the region of conducting the anti-terrorist operation and on prospects for Afghan settlement. Moreover, Putin and Rakhmonov discussed topical issues of bilateral relations and the pace of preparations for the jubilee summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) devoted to its 10th anniversary.
