Afghan Women Are Again Allowed To Work

The Northern Alliance leadership has abolished the prohibition for women to work, introduced by the Taliban, said the head of the UN mission to Afghanistan, referring to the Foreign Minister of Burhanuddin Rabbani's government. According to the UN representative, two Afghani women have already resumed their work in Kabul bakeries, distributing cheap bread among the poor. In addition, the Afghani minister said that women were no more obliged to wear the paranja.
